Textured Meshes in Wavefront Object Files usually consists of 3 Types of Files:
These files are connected to each other with absolute paths, which can lead to problems if the files are moved or sent to you from another computer. As a general rule, if you can open a correct preview of the file (for example by double-clicking the obj in Windows) it should work just as well in LiquidEarth.
If this is the case only providing the .obj File should be enough and the materials and textures are automatically added on import.
If your mesh does not load properly, e.g. if textures are not loaded, add as many textures as the dataset requires by clicking + Add Texture and assign them manually by clicking open and selecting the respective file one by one.
LiquidEarth uses a left-handed coordinate system with y-up. Other 3D software (like Blender) might use uses different reference systems, for example right-handed with z-up. The Other settings tab lets you adjust these different reference systems on import by flipping the x coordinate (left-handed/ right handed) and define z instead of y as the up-Axis.
After import, verify that your data is pointing the right way up and is not mirrored along the x-Axis!
clicking Load will add the dataset to your space and close the wizard. LiquidEarth will start uploading data to the cloud now. Depending on the size of your dataset and your internet connection, this can take a while. You will see a notification in the Activity Feed when the upload has finished.
