Overview

On tablet and mobile, the LiquidEarth app can operate in two distinct visualization modes:

Toggling AR Mode

  1. Open LiquidEarth on your tablet or mobile device.
  2. Locate the AR toggle positioned below the Inspector Quickbar.
  3. Switch AR Mode ON to activate the device camera passthrough.
  4. Switch AR Mode OFF to return to the standard visualization mode.

Whenever AR Mode is toggled on or off, Focus on Selection is automatically executed. This ensures that your active space or selected content remains visible and centered in the workspace.

The AR toggle can be found below the inspector quickbar.

Background Behavior

As a result, the “Passthrough” background option is not separately available in the Settings on tablet or mobile devices.

Camera Controls and Behavior

On tablet and mobile, the Orbit and Free Camera modes (available via dropdown on desktop) are not accessible.

In AR Mode, the User Camera movement in the 3D workspace directly corresponds to the physical movement of your device in the real world, letting you naturally explore your space, for example, by walking around it. You can also select the space and transform it (move, rotate, or scale) via touch interactions (see also Visualization & Basic Interactions).

In XR/AR mode, the user camera is moved by physically moving the device, such as a tablet, itself.

In Standard Mode (non-AR), there is no direct way to move the User Camera itself. To change your perspective, you can select the space and transform it (move, rotate, or scale) via touch interactions, similar to how you would manipulate content in AR Mode.
