Object3D elements are a versatile feature and type of Content that allows users to place 3D objects in the workspace for a variety of purposes, such as serving as markers or containers for annotations. These elements are valuable tools for use cases such as presentations and storytelling.
How to Place an Object3D Element
When a space is loaded, you can add an Object3D element directly from the Explorer. Simply hover over the Add Content section at the bottom of the space’s content list. In addition to the Upload and Import buttons, you’ll see the option to insert an Object3D element.
After selecting it, choose a shape (e.g., cube, sphere, or arrow) and drag it into the 3D workspace to place it.
Once placed, you can fine-tune its position, rotation, and scale using the Transform Panel, just like any other 3D element in LiquidEarth.

Key Object3D Features:
- Several basic shapes are currently available:
- Cube
- Sphere
- Arrow indicator (pointing downward)
- ThePage3D variant is technically an Object3D, but it uses a different shape and name to indicate its intended role: serving as a dedicated container for annotations (e.g., for tracking information, reporting, or presentations).
- Object3D elements are selectable and operate at the same level as other major Content types, such as surface meshes, volumes, and drillholes. Unlike annotation blocks, they are not subordinate to other content. Instead, they can serve as containers, i.e. parent elements for blocks, such as annotations.
- Object3D elements can be positioned anywhere in the 3D space and used as standalone markers or as containers for annotations.
- Each Object3D element can be resized individually, and a global controller enables users to adjust the size of all Object3D elements collectively.
