When you share a space, you can assign different roles with different permission levels to Users With Access to the Space. The roles and permissions are as follows:
Guest: Users with access limited to viewing. They cannot edit content or add annotations. When sharing a space with users, Guest is now the default role.
Commentator: Focused on viewing and basic annotations. Commentators can navigate the space and add note or callout blocks, but cannot import data or edit content beyond the named basic annotations.
<aside> ⚠️ Heads Up: As of LE v2024.1, Commentators can add/modify any block (not only notes and callouts). This will change to be more restrictive in a future version.

Contributor: Responsible for detailed content management within the space. Contributors have full editing rights but lack permissions for space management tasks like sharing and duplication.
Admin: In addition to full content editing rights, Admins have advanced space management permissions. This includes the assignment of roles. However, they cannot delete the space or alter ownership.
Owner: This role is initially assigned to the space creator and is visible to all users with access. An Owner has full governance over space. In addition to all Admin rights, they can delete the space permanently and transfer ownership. There can only be one Owner at a time.
To manage roles, use the Users With Access list in edit mode when inspecting a space via the Remote Explorer. Here, you can also revoke access for other users (as long as you are Owner or Admin yourself).
