When you share a space, you can assign different roles with different permission levels to Users With Access to the Space. The roles and permissions are as follows:
- Guest: Users with access limited to viewing. They cannot edit, add or remove any content, data, annotations, or tools. When sharing a space, the Guest role is assigned by default.
**Note: ****The Guest role differs from the Guest Viewer role; it is essentially the permanent equivalent for users with a LiquidEarth account.
- Commentator: Focused on viewing and basic annotations. Commentators can navigate the space and add Note Blocks or Callout Blocks, but cannot import data or edit elements beyond the named basic annotations.

User roles (permissions) can be managed via the Users with Access list in the inspector.
- Contributor: Responsible for detailed content management within a space. Contributors have full editing rights, allowing them to import new data and remove existing data. However, they do not have permissions for space management tasks, such as sharing or duplicating the space.
- Admin: In addition to full content editing rights, Admins have advanced space management permissions, including the ability to assign roles, i.e., manage permissions. However, they cannot delete the space or modify its ownership.
- Owner: This role is initially assigned to the space creator and is visible to all users with access. An Owner has full governance over space. In addition to all Admin rights, they can delete the space permanently and transfer ownership. There can only be one Owner at a time.
To manage roles, use the Users With Access list in edit mode. This list can be found under the Access to Space section in the inspector. Here, you can also revoke access for other users (as long as you are Owner or Admin yourself).
